WHO AM I?

My name is Mark D. Whitney. I’m a 1991 graduate of Nicholls State University with a BS degree in fine art; the first graduate of NSU with course training in their newly introduced Graphic Design degree program. I’ve owned and operated, Whitney Design Graphics, a successful part time freelance Graphic Design business since 1991 supplying graphic design and layout services for local printers, newspapers and magazine providers, billboard companies, screen printers and other specialty printing distributors.

Having supplied literally several thousand design jobs to other distributors of the specialty printing industry from the design-only end for over 20 years, I decided to leverage my years of experience in supplying advertising specialty items through my already established Graphic Design business.

I work with over 3,700 specialty advertising vendors who supply a wide range of custom imprinted items in a multitude of budget friendly ranges to fit your specific needs. You can search these items in several ways to make finding your custom imprinted items fun and easy.

MY HOURS

I work afternoons as the Graphic Designer at a local print shop that produces regular “offset” printing (ie, multi part forms, brochures, business cards, postcards, etc). Therefore, Whitney Design business hours for order review, order placement and deliveries are relegated to my long standing hours of Monday thru Friday mornings 8:00am to 12:00pm. Any order, inquiry or artwork sent past noon will be reviewed for usability the next business morning.

OFFSET PRINT WORK

One exception to available items that may show up on a couple of vendors pages is offset printed items. In the case of offset print material (ie, paper products such as brochures, business cards, postcards, etc), I’ve understandably verbally agreed with my offset print shop employer not to design or sell those items produced in-house. Therefore, items such as those mentioned above will be either declined or offered through Star Printing, Inc. at their price with absolutely no obligation on your part to buy once quoted.

SCREEN PRINTED WORK

Simple screen printed items will be quoted and produced in-house if possible. Again, no obligation on your part once quoted. We won’t quote anything that we couldn’t supply in-house at same or better quality at a comparable price. Samples of in-house screen printed items are available locally.

ORDERS & BILLING

NOTE: no orders are billed or submitted until reviewed first for completeness and usable artwork. You may be contacted if questions or concerns arise with your order are artwork provided.

ARTWORK & FEES

See distributors individual requirements on their pages including anyminimum order requirements, artwork requirements, or vendor specificset-up charges that may apply. Pre-press design and layout charges, ifneeded or applicable will be based at an hourly rate of $45.00/hr.

However, unlike when supplying design-only services, if the order meets aminimum requirement, which will vary based on the product, I would now havethe opportunity to waive or lower art charges. Either way, nothing willbe ordered until all parties agree to any estimated art fees requiredbased on your specific request. Submitting clean, high resolution, hardcopy or digital artwork will minimize the need for extraneous set ups.No expected time-consuming artwork will be executed without agreement toestimated price first. Please indicate If you have hard copy artworkthat cannot be supplied digitally and I will contact you in regards toacquiring it.

SENDING ARTWORK:

If the LogoMall server won't let you send a file due to size, email your file up to 25MB to [email protected]

Vector artwork can be accepted from the following programs


Adobe Illustrator - CS4 or lower
EPS Files from Illustrator, Corel or Freehand
PDF Files from Illustrator, Corel or Freehand

If your logo or design exists in a vector based format or if a job is to print as a multi spot color job, vector based files from Adobe Illustrator CS4 or lower or EPS files from Corel Draw or Freehand will provide the best workability and least amount of set up time and cost. Convert all fonts to paths before export or sending.

Raster files can be accepted as:

Photoshop CS4 or lower
JPG, BMP, PNG, TIFF

If your image is strictly raster based (PHG, JPG, TIFF, BMP) sending the file by itself is advised as apposed to placing it in an Office file. Raster based images should be at least 300 to 600dpi or ppi (dots per inch or pixels per inch) AT PRINT SIZE depending on whether it is a full color image or a simple black and white image respectively.

Note the proportion and/or imprint area for the product if shown when preparing artwork and digital files.

Use Stuffit or WinZip if needed.

LIABILITY LIMITATION:

No refunds on custom imprinted materials. We must be notified of any merchandise deemed unusable due to defect within 15 days of receipt of product. Vendor will be contacted and notified and replacement arrangements made upon acceptance and acknowledgement of defective material.

IMPRINT COLORS:

Color will vary from vendor to vendor, monitor to monitor, and printer to printer. Therefore, colors may vary from what you see on your screen or printed hard copy or even from batch to batch from a single vendor within an industry excepted range. Additionally most PMS matches aren't expressly guaranteed by most vendors, so neither can I.
